At one time Darrington was surrounded by mines and was quite the boom town.  It was said there there was so much blasting of dynamite up in the hills, that it would give you the jitters!  This map is approximate locations of the mines surrounding the area.  Many of these abandoned mines have collapsed and very unstable dangerous places.  This page is to provide information only –
