Autumn Comes To Tupso Lake
For much of the year the high lake Tupso lays beneath the snow. Springtime is a slow thaw as wildflowers erupt and snows give way to warmer days. The air fills with a frenzy of insects and wildlife enjoy the spring’s bounty. Slowly the lake will begin to appear as summer draws near. The all so fleeting summer soon gives way to the cold nights of the alpine autumn turning grasses golden and blueberries to scarlet. Photos By Martha Rasmussen
